Morgan horses can excel in open competition, here’s an example

August 2009: Suzy Stafford has just won the bronze medal World Combined Pony Driving Championship in the UK with the Morgan mare, Courage to Lead.  She was in silver position after the dressage, maintained silver after marathon, but dropped to bronze after the cones.  The USA team took 4th place.

Courage to Lead was foaled in 1997, the mare is by Courage of Equinox out of Hartland Sable, who is by Hartland Revelation.  I think it is interesting that she was shown in halter as a yearling, in pleasure driving as a two-year old, and then was pretty successful at  western pleasure as a four-year old.  She was bought by her present owner, Beverly Lesher, at the end of her four-year-old year.
Menomin has several fine driving horses for sale.  All are driven both in the ring and on the local dirt roads and through hazards.

Speaking of the NY Regional show....
Becca and Menomin Mr Mister
performed a jousting demonstration at the show
This is MrMr's 2nd career...  He has shown successfully both in hand and pleasure driving.
Another versatile Morgan at play!

"Way to go Bev!"
Congratulations on your win in Classic Pleasure Novice Rider at the NY Regional
with Menomin Pepper Power
Mitch and our black mare, 'Blue' (Illustra Indigo Blue),  drove the bride (Deanna Rackowski) to her wedding yesterday.   They managed to make the 1/2 mile drive to the wedding ceremony between rain storms.  The bride was lovely and in good spirits.   Blue's park walk was close to a parade horse gait, that caught many observers eyes as  the wedding procession proceeded to the ceremony!

This was a first time wedding presentation for Mitch  and Blue.  Mitch, of course is accustomed to driving in the show ring, and Blue,  who has only been used for breeding for the last 4 years, found this an enjoyable change of pace from her past as a park harness show horse.     Watch for pictures from the wedding!!
